Alibaba Group has been named to Fortune magazine’s 2026 World’s Most Admired Companies, marking its sixth consecutive appearance. This recognition reaffirms the company’s global leadership as it advances its “AI-first” strategy.
The annual survey, which draws insights from around 3,000 global executives, directors, and financial analysts, places Alibaba third in the Internet Services and Retailing subcategory, alongside Amazon and Alphabet, and outperforming other Chinese peers.

“Fortune is proud to celebrate the companies on this year’s World’s Most Admired Companies list; they have set the bar for real innovation, resilient leadership, and global impact,” said Alyson Shontell, Fortune’s Editor in Chief and Chief Content Officer. “As rapidly advancing technologies such as AI transform entire industries, these organizations stand out for their ability to evolve with purpose and foresight, consistently shaping the path forward for global business, and the future of how we work and lead.”
This latest recognition follows a year of transformative progress in AI at Alibaba, from developing cutting-edge AI infrastructure for enterprises to creating fast-evolving consumer applications. Last week, the company transformed its flagship consumer application, Qwen App, from an intelligent to an agentic assistant by deeply integrating services from the Alibaba ecosystem, including travel, e-commerce, quick commerce, and payment. The company continued to set industry benchmarks in open-source AI, winning recognition on Fortune’s Change the World list in 2025.
Fortune’s World’s Most Admired Companies survey evaluates companies on nine key attributes, including innovation, social responsibility, and global competitiveness, making Alibaba’s consistent presence a testament to its enduring vision and strong execution.
