We champion a philosophy of participatory philanthropy, mobilizing employees, merchants, and stakeholders across society to join us in doing good. We partner with diverse organizations in key sectors to launch targeted initiatives that deliver a positive social impact. These initiatives primarily focus on rural revitalization, ecological conservation, support for the disabled and vulnerable, emergency response, and tech-driven solutions to social problems. We also foster entrepreneurship and job creation across our spheres of influence to advance social inclusion.
We have developed a rural revitalization commissioner model to station senior employees in underdeveloped counties. By aligning our business resources with local endowments, they bridge the urban-rural divide across four dimensions: local industries, talent pools, technologies, and livelihoods.

In 2019, we launched the rural revitalization commissioner model, deploying senior employees to underdeveloped counties, where they harness our resources to accelerate local development.

As of March 31, 2026, we had deployed 35 rural revitalization commissioners to 30 county-level regions across China, including Julu in Hebei, Yijun in Shaanxi, and Ping'an in Qinghai.

Our initiative for the sustainable development of the chestnut industry in Qinglong, Hebei, was recognized as one of the best cases in the 6th Global Solicitation on Best Poverty Reduction Practices, jointly launched by seven institutions, including the International Poverty Reduction Center in China, the China Internet Information Center, and the World Bank.

The Origin Select Program supports qualified agricultural products with exclusive tags and traffic support. To help farmers lacking e-commerce experience, Taobao and Tmall take over operations and customer service, and farmers only need to pack and ship. We also drive year-round sales through on-site, farmer-support livestreams like Savoring the Source, highlighting seasonal harvests.

By bridging consumer insights with production, Freshippo has established its Freshippo Village model, a demand-driven, contract farming system aimed at standardizing, premiumizing, and branding local agri-products.As of March 31, 2026, 115 Freshippo Villages had been established across 24 provincial-level regions in China.

In collaboration with ecosystem partners, we enlist seasoned e-commerce experts as consultants to provide six months of on-the-ground support for merchants in counties served by our rural revitalization commissioners. This initiative, known as the Pacer Plan, helps nurture local digital talent. As of March 31, 2026, the Pacer Plan had been implemented across 18 county-level regions.

Alibaba Philanthropy and Alibaba Health Philanthropy have launched the Xiao Lu Lantern Project together with partner organizations to help critically ill children. The project reaches out to their families, providing medical aid as well as financial support to cover diagnosis and treatment expenses. As of March 31, 2026, the Xiao Lu Lantern Project had allocated over RMB54 million to provide medical assistance for 2,662 eligible pediatric patients.

Amap‘s Satellite-based Offline Navigation feature eliminates the risk of disorientation in network dead zones, and its Satellite SOS feature supports emergency communications via satellite. It has a full set of rescue protocols to ensure safety in uninhabited areas.

In May 2025, several regions, including Shaanxi and Henan, were hit by droughts. In July that year, Beijing, Hebei, and other places suffered floods. We quickly deployed relief resources to support evacuation and relocation efforts.

Launched via the ModelScope community, the inaugural "Small Yet Mighty" AI Open-source Innovation Challenge for Social Good equips developers with open-source models, compute resources, and tools. This empowers them to build applications for rural education, senior care, autism support, and accessible living, fostering an innovation ecosystem and expanding the boundaries of AI for good.

With guide dogs serving less than 0.03% of China's vast visually impaired population, Amap has developed Tutu, an autonomous sensing and navigation robot, to pioneer tech-driven mobility aid.

Alibaba Global Initiatives (AGI) nurtures digital talent for developing countries. It integrates the AGI Learn online platform with customized curricula to train local public-sector professionals and entrepreneurs.

The Barrier-free Entrepreneurship and Employment Assistance Plan for 10,000 Merchants provides free training and business diagnostics for merchants with disabilities. As of March 31, 2026, it had served over 5,000 beneficiaries.

In FY2026, the Taobao Learning Center developed hands-on AI courses to accelerate AI adoption among e-commerce entrepreneurs, logging 17.59 million learning sessions.

DingTalk's AI Application Engineer Certification Program nurtures AI-ready digital talent, with over 40,000 individuals certified as of March 31, 2026.

In FY2026, the Orange Class launched AI courses and a smart interview simulator. Having engaged over 480,000 learners by March 31, 2026, the program won Hangzhou's Gold Award for Youth Volunteer Initiatives.

Taobao Instant Commerce provides full commercial insurance for delivery riders across all operating provincial-level regions. In 17 of these regions, this is combined with occupational injury insurance to create a "dual-insurance" model. Furthermore, we offer social security allowances to eligible, regular delivery riders in 76 cities across 28 provincial-level regions.

Taobao Instant Commerce adopts a holistic approach to delivery rider safety, covering everything from safety standards and training to smart early warning systems and protective equipment.

Taobao Instant Commerce's delivery rider support system provides 24/7 assistance and offers care via the Orange Plan, the Orange Fund, and Care Stations. It fosters a sense of belonging and social recognition by presenting platform badges and empowering delivery riders to earn honors such as the National Model Worker Award.

We have launched the Goods for Good Program to mobilize broad participation in philanthropy. When a consumer purchases a "Goods for Good" product, a merchant-configured portion of the proceeds is donated to a philanthropic organization or project. In FY2026, the Goods for Good Program engaged over 1.56 million merchants and more than 430 million users.
